Cost Separations Specialist

Responsibilities
 
Prepare annual and other interim federal and state regulatory reporting statements. Assist with interstate – intrastate ratemaking studies, cost studies, tariff filings, and other related telecommunications planning and filing matters.
 
Requirements
 
Qualified candidates must have at least  5  years experience in telecommunications consulting, including extensive hands-on knowledge of Part 36/39 separation studies. Will possess analytical skills in providing support and consulting to telecommunications companies. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, or extensive experience in rural telecommunications consulting will also be considered.

Senior Auditor

Warinner, Gesinger & Associates, LLC has an opening for the position of Senior Auditor.

Responsibilities
 
Supervise audit engagements under GAAS or GAGAS with audit teams of up to five staff accountants. Plan audit engagements including initial engagement letter composition, scheduling, audit program development, materiality assessment, SAS 99 issues and analytical review. Assess internal control structures at various small to mid-size telecommunications companies. Conduct and oversee fieldwork at client premises. Maintain and promote client relationships through timely and effective communication. Direct staff during the course of the audit and assess performance. Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Demonstrate a substantive understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and effectively apply them to client situations.
 
The candidate will receive training in cost accounting concepts. The cost accounting will be utilized in cost separations engagements that involve analyzing telephone company financial statements and performing cost allocations in accordance with separations rules established by the Federal Communications Commission or the applicable state commission.
 
Requirements
 
Qualified candidates must have at least 3 - 5  years experience in public accounting, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and be a CPA.  Recent public accounting experience is important.  A minimum of 2 years managing audit engagements.  Experience with telecommunications companies is a plus.   Demonstrated project skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills; willingness to travel approximately 10% of the year, (actual percentage will vary based on specific assignments or projects awarded in a given year).

Senior Tax Accountant

Responsibilities

Prepare federal and multi-state tax returns, research tax and planning issues, assist clients and attorneys with implementing tax planning and other matters.  Be able to assist and supervise other tax and audit staff in tax related jobs and assignments.   

Requirements

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and be a CPA. Experience with FAS 109. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 - 5 years experience in tax accounting, research and return preparation.

Responsibilities
 
Perform tasks to complete financial statement audits under the direction of a senior accountant. Learn through on the job training all aspects of an audit including internal control testing, confirmation processing, planning, fieldwork at client locations and financial statement preparation. Through hard work, candidate should aspire to handle responsibilities as a senior account/lead auditor within 2 to 3 years. Become familiar with the complexities of telecommunications industry. Develop a rapport with clients.
